Disney planning sport betting push
Disney has owned ESPN for over 25 years now. Thanks to a massive following, high advertisement rates, and large subscriber growth, ESPN is one of the most used sources for anything sports related in the world.
Disney chief executive Bob Chapek insist ESPN has a future with Disney, and the future is going to be increasingly online due to its sports betting strategy. Bob Chapek said, “driven by the consumer, particularly the younger consumer that will replenish the sports fans over time and their desire to have gambling as part of their sports experience”.
So far Disney’s has acquired a 6% stake in DraftKings and some of Caesars with the acquisition of 21st Century Fox.
