Louisiana is now live for sports betting with 6 sports books to choose from

The Louisiana control board has allowed online betting to start today 1/28/2022, and with some of the biggest football games of the year coming up, Louisiana has chosen a great week for the initial launch. The operators going live with the launch are Draftkings, FanDuel, Ceasars, BetMGM, BetRivers, and Barstool Sportsbook. They will all be allowed to accept bets for any upcoming games and have also started their promotions to entice bettors to play.

The legalization comes after the vote was passed for sports betting in November 2020. With the final approval only coming in this past week allowing sportsbooks to go live. The bill will allow for 41 online operators however the number will likely be lower once all is finalized.
