Flutter Entertainment Posts 27% Annual Revenue Growth In Preliminary Results

Flutter Entertainment, parent company of FanDuel, has just announced its preliminary results for the the 2022 financial year, posting annual revenue of $7.7 billion, a 27% increase from its same prior year period. Flutters group EBITDA also jumped 27% to hit $918 million. Average monthly players grew by 26% from 8,146 to 10,245. Flutter went on to highlight their success throughout the year, especially in the US market as they have become the dominant leader of US sports betting with 50% of the the Q4 market share, not quire double DraftKings, but getting close. Of that, Maryland and Ohio were its most successful state launches.

Minnesota Gaming Hope Growing As Teams & Tribes Show Support

Minnesota online sports betting hope just got boosted after an announcement that online sports betting bills, HF2000 and SF1949, have both received unilateral support from state tribes as well as sports teams. The new support from the two groups shows hints that online sports betting will be coming to Minnesota sometime this year. The bills would make provisions for 11 mobile sports betting licenses for state tribes with each requiring an annual licensing fee of $2,125 but partnering providers would need to pay an application fee pf $6,000 and then a fee of $38,250 for a three year license. Missouri Senate Committee Discusses Sports Betting Legalization Bills

The Missouri Senate Appropriations Committee has recently heard two bills that would allow the legalization of sports betting in Missouri. If approved the new bills would allow Missouri residents and visitors to bet on sporting events but lawmakers are divided over the legalization of video lottery terminals. The proposed SB30 bill would legalize sports betting in Missouri while introducing a 10% tax on wagers with no provisions for lottery machines while the SB-1 bill replicates SB30 at 10% tax and addresses the video lottery terminals proposing a 36% tax. SB-1, proposed by Sen. Denny Hoskins is estimated by Hoskins to generate revenues of over $250 million in slot machines.
