Responsible Gaming

Effective 9 September 2026.

In short

iBET is for adults 18 and over, playing with money they can afford to lose. You can cap your own deposits and entries, ask the app to remind you how long you have been playing, take a break, or exclude yourself for six months or more. You can tighten any of it instantly; loosening it takes a day. If the fun has gone out of it, help is free and confidential on 1-800-MY-RESET, day or night.

1. You must be 18 or over

iBET is for adults aged 18 and over. We check your date of birth when you register and block the account if it shows you are under 18, and we verify your identity before you can withdraw. If we find an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it and return any deposits.

2. Deposit and entry limits

You can set two separate caps, and each one can be set for a day, a week or a month:

  • A deposit limit — the most you can add to your account in that period.
  • An entry limit — the most you can stake on entries in that period, whatever your balance.

They work independently, so you can cap what you put in, what you play, or both. Once a cap is reached, the deposit or entry is refused and we tell you how much is left and when the period resets. Refunded and cancelled entries do not count against an entry limit.

Changing a limit

Lowering a limit takes effect immediately. You never have to wait to protect yourself.

Raising or removing a limit takes 24 hours. The change sits pending for a day before it applies, and you can cancel it at any point during that day. This is deliberate: a limit you can lift the moment it becomes inconvenient is not a limit. The decision that counts is the one you made calmly, not the one you would make in the middle of a losing run.

3. Reality checks

You can ask the app to interrupt you at a set interval — every 15, 30, 60 or 120 minutes — and tell you how long you have been playing and what you have spent in that session. It is off unless you turn it on.

Time passes differently when you are absorbed in something. This is the cheapest tool on the page and the one people most often say they wish they had turned on sooner.

4. Taking a break

A break blocks entries and deposits for a fixed term: 1 day, 3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks or 6 weeks.

You keep your login, and you can still withdraw your money — a break stops you playing, it does not lock up your funds. A break cannot be shortened or cancelled once it has started. It ends by itself when the term is up.

5. Self-exclusion

Self-exclusion is the serious one, and it is meant to be. The terms are 6 months, 1 year, 5 years, or permanent. There is no shorter option — if you want a few days or weeks, take a break instead.

While excluded, entries and deposits are blocked and we stop sending you marketing. As with a break, you keep your login and you can still withdraw your money.

Two things to understand before you choose it:

  • It does not end on its own. When the term is over the account stays frozen until you contact support and ask us to lift it. That is on purpose — coming back should be a decision you make deliberately, not something that happens to you on a Tuesday.
  • You cannot undo it. Not by changing your mind, and not by asking us. To confirm you mean it, we ask you to type the words EXCLUDE ME.

Permanent self-exclusion closes the account for good and we will not reopen it.

6. Where to find all of this

Sign in and open Play Limits from the account menu — at the bottom of the screen in the app, top right in a browser. Limits, reality checks, breaks and self-exclusion are all set from that one screen, and every change is recorded.

If you would rather not do it yourself, email [email protected] and we will set it up with you.

7. Signs it might be time to take a break

Nobody sets out to have a problem, and the early signs are easy to explain away. Some worth being honest with yourself about:

  • You are playing with money set aside for something else — rent, bills, food.
  • You are entering more, or more often, to win back what you lost.
  • You are hiding how much you play, or how much you have lost, from people close to you.
  • You are borrowing money, or selling things, to keep playing.
  • You feel restless or irritable when you try to cut down.
  • Playing has stopped being enjoyable and started feeling like something you have to do.
  • It is costing you sleep, work, or time with people who matter to you.

If more than one of those landed, that is worth taking seriously. Setting a limit takes about a minute, and reaching out costs nothing.

8. Where to get help

You do not have to be sure you have a problem to talk to someone.

National Problem Gambling Helpline — 1-800-MY-RESET (1-800-697-3738)
Free, confidential, and open 24 hours a day, every day. Call or text the same number, or chat online at ncpgambling.org. They will point you to help near you.

Gamblers Anonymous — free peer support groups, in person and online, at gamblersanonymous.org.

Gam-Anon — support for the family and friends of someone who gambles, at gam-anon.org.

Many states also run their own helplines and treatment programmes, and the national helpline above can connect you to yours.

9. Keeping under-18s off your device

If you share a device with someone under 18, sign out when you are finished and do not save your password. Parental control software can block fantasy sports and gambling apps — Qustodio and Net Nanny are widely used — and both iOS and Android have screen-time and content restrictions built in.

10. What we do at our end

  • We check age at registration and verify identity before any withdrawal.
  • We enforce every limit, break and exclusion on our servers, not in the app — so they hold however you sign in.
  • We apply our own caps on daily stakes and on entry patterns, independently of anything you set.
  • We stop marketing to anyone on a break or self-exclusion.
  • We record every limit change, break and exclusion, including who made it.
  • We do not offer credit, and we never lend you money to play.
