Optimism Grows For Legal Sports Betting In North Carolina

Optimism for legal sports betting in North Carolina is growing as new developments have been made for Senate Bill 688, which would ultimately open the doors for sports betting in the Tar Heel State. SB 688 would also allow PGA Tour events and professional sports venues with a capacity of over 17,000  to open retail sportsbooks. A quote from one of SB 688’s sponsors, Sen. Singapore Rivals Macau With Excellent 2022 Numbers

Singapore has been cementing its crown as the gaming king in Asia for 2022 with Resorts World Sentosa posting massive increases in gaming revenue and leading its group, Genting Singapore, to a massive year with $258 million in profits. Resorts World Sentosa posted $919 million in revenue as international investors returned causing an uptick in non-gaming revenue. Macau has been fighting back for its position though as almost 1.4 million tourists came and went in January.

Texas Sports Teams Back Mobile Sports Betting Bills

Texas mobile sports betting hopes are getting bigger as the Texas Sports Betting Alliance has announced its support for the pair of bills that could draw bipartisan backing. Bill 715 and Senate Joint Resolution 39 proposed by State Sen. Lois Kolkhorst would offer transparent licensing while attempting to reign in offshore betting in the Lone Star state. HB 1942 and HJR 102 proposed by State Rep. Jeff Leach, offers an identical strategy to Kolkhorst’s. Both bills have now been backed by the Texas Rangers (MLB), Dallas Cowboys (NFL), the Houston Texans (MLB), and other sports franchises across the state. The push for legal mobile sports betting was halted in that past years but offers promise as more begin to back the efforts.
