The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) has reported that almost five million visitors traveled to Macau during the first quarter of 2023, with approximately six in 10 visitors coming from mainland China, 30% from Hong Kong, and the remaining 10% from Taiwan and foreign markets. Macau is open to international travelers, but those not originating from China, Hong Kong, or Taiwan must still present a negative COVID-19 test for entry. International Game Technology (IGT), a provider of gaming equipment, has expanded its sports betting operations in the United States. The company has secured its first sports betting technology contract in New Mexico, providing odds-making services to the Pueblo of Santa Ana tribe at the Santa Ana Star Casino. IGT has installed its sports wagering platform and betting kiosks, replacing another sports betting company’s technology. The company has also signed a three-year contract extension with the Rhode Island Lottery to continue providing sports betting technology to Bally’s Twin River Lincoln Casino Resort, Bally’s Tiverton Casino & Hotel, and the Sportsbook Rhode Island mobile app.
