New York Pulls Over $267M In Tax Revenue

In the five months that betting has been legal in New York the state has made more than $267 million in tax revenue from sports betting with $263 million of that coming from bettors using mobile apps such as DraftKings, FanDuel, and BetMGM. With this much revenue in just five months New York is on its way to becoming one of the betting capitals of the world. A quote from the chairman of the Senate Racing, Gaming, and Wagering Committee said, “New Yorkers have proven that we were ready for sports betting, including its mobile component, and we are no longer the broken-down, wobbly-wheeled car in the right lane watching other states pass us by.”
