Pennsylvania Breaks Annual Gaming Revenue Record

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has just unveiled their annual gaming revenue for 2022 and with that, the state has broken its record, showing that iGaming is here to stay. Over the course of 2022, Pennsylvania sportsbooks and online casinos handled $7.25 billion and $1.36 billion, smashing the previous record and totaling $8.61 billion. The sportsbook handle increased 10.7% year-over-year while online casinos blazed ahead, improving 22.6%. For the sportsbooks, FanDuel led the way with over 50% of Pennsylvania’s sports betting revenue totaling $209.9 million with year-over-year growth of 30.2%. DraftKings trailed with $76.2 million, Barstool Sportsbook with $21.6 million, BetRivers with $18.9 million, and BetPARX with $15.9 million. New Jersey 2022 Gaming Revenue Matches All-Time Record

The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement has just released the latest monthly revenue report showing solid performance for the state. The combined gambling revenues for December totaled $454 million which brings the total 2022 revenue to $5.2 billion, matching the states record which was reached back in 2006. The December numbers show a 12.5% increase from the prior year and the yearly total was up 10% from the prior year. The report shows that around half of the total revenue came from in-person casino gambling and sports betting with Atlantic City finally surpassing their pre-Covid levels. Thailand Casinos Closer To Reality After Report Approval

The idea of of casinos in Thailand is becoming more of a reality as their House of Representatives has just approved a report to establish casinos for tourists and the local public that could have a final decision with “two or three years”. After two and a half hours of debate, the House voted in favor of evaluating the potential that casinos would have on tourism and their economy. Despite the positives of the report, the committee did say they weren’t suggesting legalization of gambling but rather aiming for an in-depth analysis of the possibilities of a legal casino industry.
