Study Finds 1 In 5 U.S. Adults Placed Bets In Past Year
In a new report from the Pew Research Center, their findings show that nearly one in five U.S. adults had placed a sports bet in the past year, 19%. They found the most common forms of betting came from friends and family, e.g., fantasy sports leagues and private betting pools, 15%. Around 8% placed bets at casinos, racetracks, and kiosks and 6% placed bets online. With the NFL season starting, the American Gambling Association reported that 46.6 million U.S. citizens stated they would place a bet on the current season, up 3% from last year.
